Have you ever dreamt of stepping out onto a large stage to blow your trumpet? If you are an aspiring trumpet player looking for your first taste of a proper gig day, I want to hear from you!
As I tour the country, I am looking for one local trumpet player in each town to join me onstage to perfrom Billy's classic love song, The Saturday Boy.
Whether you are a student, part of a local youth band, or just someone who plays in their bedroom and wants to have a go on the big stage, this is your chance to play on the other side of the barrier!
What You Get
The Performance: You will join me onstage to play the iconic trumpet solo and outro during the gig.
VIP Access: An 'All Access' pass for you and one guest.
The Best Seat in the House: After your big moment, you and your guest can watch the rest of the show from the side of the stage!
How to Apply
Grab your trumpet and record a quick, informal video of yourself playing the middle trumpet solo from The Saturday Boy (coming in just after the lyric, "La la la la la means I love you...").
Send the video to me via Facebook Messenger via my Facebook page.
Include your name, age, the town/gig date you are applying for, and a brief sentence about why you would love to play.
I’ll review every application and will confirm the winning candidate at least six weeks prior to the gig.

The Nitty Gritty: Logistics & Terms
To make sure the day runs smoothly and safely, please read the following carefully before applying:
Timings & Soundcheck: Gig days run on a tight schedule! You must be available to arrive at the venue by 5:00 pm sharp on the day of the show for soundcheck and a quick run-through.
Your Instrument: You will need to bring your own trumpet, and please ensure it is in good working order.
Safeguarding (Under 16s): If you are under 16, you are more than welcome to apply, but you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the entire duration of your time at the venue (from 5:00 pm until you leave). Your parent/guardian will use your '+1' All Access pass.
Travel & Expenses: Please note that this is an unpaid community opportunity. You will need to make your own way to the venue and cover any personal travel costs.
Photography & Filming: We love sharing these special moments! By taking part, you (and your parent/guardian, if applicable) consent to photos and videos of your performance being shared on social media channels.
The 'No Pressure' Clause: I know that stepping onto a big stage can be daunting. If you get to soundcheck and decide it is too overwhelming, there is absolutely no pressure. You can step back, keep your All Access pass, and simply enjoy the gig from the crowd instead. It is all about having fun!
